The new seasons will open up the new chapters with new twists and turns ensuring the delivery of fresh and captivating content. Without much ado, let’s dive into the list of most eagerly anticipated OTT releases that await you in 2024.

Maharani 3

The trailer of the much-anticipated political thriller Maharani season 3 is already out. Headlined by Huma Qureshi, the story of the Maharani revolves around Qureshi’s character Rani Bharti who has to perforce sit on the throne after her husband and politician Bheema Bharti is sent to jail. Maharani Season 3 will premiere on March 7 on SonyLIV.

Mirzapur 3

Popular series Mirzapur is returning with season 3. Pankaj Tripathi will be back as the clever and tough Akhandanand Tripathi, aka Kaleen Bhaiya. Ali Fazal will return as Guddu Pandit, on a mission to get revenge for what happened to his loved ones. It is expected to release in the last week of March 2024 on Amazon Prime Video.

Aashram 4

One of the most anticipated and well-praised web series Aashram is soon returning with season 4. Directed by Prakash Jha, the series starring Bobby Deol delves into the murky world of fake spiritual leaders and their exploitation of blind faith. The storyline of season 4 is expected to revolve around Baba Nirala’s clash with the law and his relationship with Pammi. MX Player’s Aashram season 4 is the long-awaited continuation of the Indian web series.

Breathe: Into the Shadows 3

Amazon Prime Video’s psychological thriller web series Breathe: Into the Shadows will return with its third installment. Directed by Mayank Sharma, Breathe: Into the Shadows stars Abhishek Bachchan, Amit Sadh, and Nithya Menen. The series follows the story of Dr. Avinash Sabharwal, played by Abhishek Bachchan, whose young daughter is kidnapped. To save her, he is coerced into committing a series of murders by a mysterious individual named ‘The Joker.’ Inspector Kabir Sawant (Amit Sadh) is the cop tasked with tracking down the killer. The release date is not yet known.

Panchayat 3

Amazon Prime Video’s Panchayat is set to continue with its highly anticipated third season. The stellar cast, spearheaded by Jitendra Kumar, Neena Gupta, and Raghubir Yadav, delivers outstanding performances, breathing life into their characters with depth and authenticity. It tells the story of an engineering graduate who, facing limited job options, decides to become a Panchayat secretary in the made-up rural village of Phulera in Uttar Pradesh. TVF has confirmed that season 3 is in the works and will be out this year, but there is no news about the release date yet.

Farzi 2

Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor’s OTT debut with Farzi was a big hit. And now there is buzz about Farzi 2 returning on Amazon Prime in late 2024 or early 2025 although the official release date for Season 2 is yet to be out. Farzi is about Sunny, an artist disillusioned by the income inequality in India after failing to keep his grandfather’s extensive printing press in business. He decides to team up with his best friend Firoz to make counterfeit money. They face challenges from Mansoor, a gangster, and Michael, a cop.

Mismatched 3

Netflix’s popular web-series Mismatched will soon return with season 3 starring Prajakta Koli and Rohit Saraf in the lead roles. Mismatched is a young adult rom-com loosely based on the plot of Sandhya Menon’s book, When Dimple Met Rishi (Simon Pulse, 2017). In November 2020, the first season came out, and in October 2022, the second season was released. There is no news about the release date of the third instalment, although sources say an early 2024 release is imminent. The show is directed by Akarsh Khurana and Nipun Dharmadhikari while it is bankrolled by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Movies.

Delhi Crime 3

Inspired by the infamous 2012 Delhi gang rape case (Nirbhaya case), the series delves into the profound impact of this horrific event and its aftermath. Widely acclaimed for its compelling storytelling, powerful performances, and sensitive handling of a sensitive subject matter, the cast includes Shefali Shah as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi IPS, Rajesh Tailang as Inspector Bhupendra Singh, Rasika Dugal as Neeti Singh IPS, Adil Hussain as Kumar Vijay (CP), Kuldeep Sareen as Inspector Viren Chaddha, Denzil Smith as Vishal Chaturvedi, and more. Delhi Crime season 2 delved into the true story of the Kachcha Baniyan Gang, who were active in the 1990s. The season is about DCP Vartika Chaturvedi (Shefali Shah) leading the investigation into the crimes of the gang. The gang’s crimes include murder, rape, robbery, and assault. The modus operandi of the gang suggests their return, but evidence reveals that there is more to it than meets the eye. Delhi Crime season 3 is anticipated to come out on Netflix in 2024.

Guns & Gulaabs 2

Crime comedy series ‘Guns and Gulaabs’ created by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, will be returning for a second season on Netflix. The series which stars Rajkummar Rao, Dulquer Salmaan, Adarsh Gourav, and Gulshan Devaiah, was revealed a few days ago by the show’s creators and just like the first, second season will bring us a lot of thrills.

The Family Man 3

Filmmaker Krishna DK reveals shooting for ‘The Family Man’ Season 3 will begin in a few months and it is expected to release by the end of 2024 or beginning of 2025. The third season will focus on issues of Northeast India and the complex geopolitics of the region. A significant portion of the series will be based in the Northeast and the season will be shot there.

The recently concluded e4m Golden Mike Awards 2024 honoured and recognized brilliance in the radio and audio industry in India. Among the diverse categories was the one for “Influencer RJ of the Year.” Big FM’s RJ Naved and Fever’s Rahul Makin walked away with the honours.
